
Above, in blue, are the sixteen states that have constitutional protections for abortion, protections that are greater than the protections offered by the US Constitution.
West Virginia, unfortunately, is one of the sixteen, thanks to Margaret Workman's 1993 WV Supreme Court decision.
The tragedy, of course, is that neither the US nor the WV Constitution offers anything remotely resembling a right to abortion. In every instance, it is a created, manufactured right. In most cases this right is spun out of thin air by judges who wish it were so.
