Barbour County House District 40 (all of Barbour county and part of Upshur county) elects one member. Mary Poling earned an F from Life Gauge. In 2006 she voted against a motion to dispense with committee reference, effectively killing a parental notification bill. In 2005 she voted for a harmful amendment to an Unborn Victims bill. She voted in favor of two harmful amendments to a Separate Offense bill in 2004. She voted against Informed Consent legislation in 2002 and voted against it again in 2003. She is a Democrat. Due to her voting record, Life Gauge does not recommend that constituents contact her. Senate District 14 (all of Barbour, Preston, Tucker, Taylor and Mineral counties, and part of Monongalia and Grant counties) elects two members. Dave Sypolt earned an A from Life Gauge.
