           Life Gauge

House District 40

House District 40 (all of Barbour county and part of Upshur county) elects one member.

Mary Poling earned an F from Life Gauge.  On February 24, 2010 she voted against a motion to discharge a committee, effectively killing a Constitutional Amendment that would stop state funding of abortions, and that would allow us to stop abortion when Roe v Wade is overturned.  In March of 2006 she voted against a motion to dispense with committee reference, effectively killing a parental notification bill.  In 2005 she voted for a harmful amendment to an Unborn Victims bill.  She voted in favor of two harmful amendments to a Separate Offense bill in 2004.  She voted against Informed Consent legislation in 2002 and voted against it again in 2003.  She is a Democrat.

The trajectory of Ms. Poling's rise to power is determined by the Speaker of the House, who uses this authority to convince delegates to vote as he wishes them to vote.  West Virginia's unborn babies will receive no justice in such a political system.  To expose injustice, make it expose itself.  Make the politicians vote.

Ask Delegate Hamilton in Buckhannon to introduce the motion that forces Ms. Poling to vote.  To write a letter to Mr. Hamilton, click here.
