House District 17 (almost all of Wayne county) elects two members.

Richard Thompson earned an F from Life Gauge.  As Speaker of the House, Mr. Thompson controls the House of Delegates, using his position to be certain that laws to protect babies die.  His appointments to chair committees have consistently killed bills that protect babies.

On February 24, 2010 Mr. Thompson voted against a motion to discharge a committee, effectively killing a Constitutional Amendment that would stop state funding of abortions, and that would allow us to stop abortion when Roe v Wade is overturned.  In 2006 Mr. Thompson voted against a motion to dispense with committee reference, effectively killing a parental notification bill.  He is a Democrat.

Don Perdue earned an F from Life Gauge.  On February 24, 2010 Mr. Perdue voted against a motion to discharge a committee, effectively killing a Constitutional Amendment that would stop state funding of abortions, and that would allow us to stop abortion when Roe v Wade is overturned.  In 2006 he voted against a motion to dispense with committee reference, effectively killing a parental notification bill.  Every year, Mr. Perdue allows dozens of abortion-related bills to die in his committee.

In 2001 Mr. Perdue voted in a five member Health sub-committee to kill an Informed Consent bill, 3-2.  He is a Democrat who chairs the House Health Committee.

These delegates will do nothing to help.
